Obituary for GEORGE TAYLOR BAILEY:
4/9/2001 - George T. Bailey, 76,
died Monday (April 9, 2001) in Kresge Residence at Mitchell Campus
of Hospice of Buffalo, Cheektowaga. He was born in Jamestown. A
Buffalo resident since childhood, he was a graduate of Burgard
Vocational High School and was a veteran of World War II, serving in
the U.S. Army in Europe and reaching the rank of corporal. He had
been employed in the composing room of the The Buffalo News for 18
years, retiring in 1992. Previously, he had been employed as a
printer by Hoffman and Sons for 28 years. He enjoyed reading, model
trains and stamp collecting. He is survived by his wife, Marian J.
Rein, whom he married in 1948; and a daughter, Sheryl B. Ditillo of
Pittsburgh. Burial was April 12 in Lake View Cemetery.
