Dinner Rolls

(Makes 2 dozen large or 4-5 dozen small)


1 package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (115 degrees F)
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
3 eggs, well beaten
4 1/2 cups unsifted flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Melted butter or margarine

Sprinkle yeast over warm water; stir to dissolve.  Combine butter, eggs and yeast mixture in mixing bowl.  Combine flour, sugar and salt.  Beat dry ingredients into yeast mixture.  DO NOT KNEAD.  Cover and refrigerate 1 1/2 hours or more.  Remove dough from refrigerator.  Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes for easier handling.  Shape as desired.  Place on greased baking pans.  Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled.  Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 425 degrees or until done.  Brush with melted butter.  Remove from pans.  Serve immediately.
