Nancy Cotterman

Tobias Mitchell was born July 10, 1799 in Pennsylvania , and died March 01, 1885 in Clarion County , Pennsylvania^.  He married Nancy J. Cotterman in 1823, daughter of George Cotterman/Cotherman.  She was born April 22, 1805 in Buffalo Township , Union County , Pennsylvania, and died April 09, 1880 in Clarion County , Pennsylvania.

In 1830, Tobias was residing in West Buffalo Township , Union County , Pennsylvania (p. 280).

Mount Pleasant is the former name of Nineveh .  When he came to Elk Township in Venango County in 1837, Clarion County did not exist. A few years later, Clarion County was formed out of parts of Venango County and Armstrong County .  Elk Township became Ashland Township .  Tobias Mitchell bought property adjoining William Mitchell in Elk Township , Venango County , on the 18th day of May 1839.

In 1840, Tobias was residing in Elk Township , Venango County , Pennsylvania (p. 124).

Tobias was a blacksmith.  He was residing in Elk Township , Clarion County , in 1850.

In the 1860 census, Tobias is residing in Ashland Township , Clarion County (p. 16).

In the 1880 census, Tobias is residing in Ashland Township , Clarion County , with his daughter, Sarah Ann Fye. (p. 14).
