BBQ Pork Ribs

2 slabs boneless country style pork ribs |
Rub: |
4 T cumin |
2 T chili powder |
3 t cardamom |
3 t cayenne |
3 t cinnamon |
2 T dry mustard |
2 T coarse salt |
Sauce: |
4 cups onions |
2 cups ketchup |
4 cups brown sugar |
1 T celery seed |
3 cups bourbon |
2 cups tomato paste |
1 bulb garlic (chopped) |
1 cup cider vinegar |
1 cup apple juice |
2 cups Dijon mustard (whole grain) |
2 cups water |
2 T cumin |
1 cup Worcestershire sauce |
Combine rub ingredients in bowl and when mixed, rub onto ribs. Place ribs in ziplock bags and refrigerate overnight. Broil, turning meat, until evenly browned. Place ribs in crockpot. In a separate bowl, sauce ingredients. Add onions and pour over ribs in crockpot. Cook on high for 4 to 5 hours or low for 8 to 10 hours. |
